It’s been a little over a year since the Patapon forces engaged in an all out blitz offensive against the Karmen. Many an eye was lost, but the brave monocular warriors pushed through courageously… until they reached the most evil demon warrior this side of Patapolis… so what happened after that intense, life-changing battle at the end of Patapon 2?
Victorious and jubilant from their conquests, they pushed on until they came across a gigantic vessel, locked with ancient magic and scribed up it an ominous message:
Heed this warning mortal beings.
Destruction and darkness locked within.
Run away and don’t look back.
Lest you wish for seven evils to attack!
Together they stabbed, poked and kicked until the lock gave way in a thunderous explosion. Before the Patapon tribe could gather the severity of their actions, they were all turned to the hardest of stones. .. all but one lone brave Patapon, Hatapon, the flag bearer.
This is where we rejoin the Patapon saga, on a dark and desolate battle field, surrounded by a sea of stone soldiers and a new evil threatening the very existence of the Patapon world.
From the vessel appears Silver Hoshipon (of similar appearance to a Patapon, but with a star-shaped body, and possessed of magical powers). Silver Hoshipon reawakens three fearless warriors and summons YOU, the Almighty, from the heavens. Reincarnated in the body of a Hero, the future of the Patapon tribe rests on your shoulders. Together with your trusted warriors Ton, Chin and Kan, you are the last hope of the Patapon tribe.

Possessed Dodonga (not the official name) is a boss in the upcoming Patapon 3. It is a normal Dodonga possessed by the sixth evil Spirit, developing small spikes and scars all over its body, as well as longer fangs in its lower jaw. The Spirit's influence also gives the beast dull purple scales, a dark violet jaw, and red eyes-the latter colour also being used for the emblem of the Spirit, which appears on Dodonga's cheek. This boss attacks much like the regular Dodonga, using fire breath and its massive head in battle. Unlike previous dinosaurs, however, its attack patterns become very erratic when it weakens. Its attacks are strong, and should be defended from at all costs.
Fire Breath: Possessed Dodonga raises its head and unleashes a diagonal line of fire at the Patapons. It can easily inflict a burn on your party, so you should either dodge or defend. Headbutt: The beast lowers its head and attacks with a simple headbutt this can also cause poison to your units. Once again, dodging is the best option, but defense is still possible if you don't have time to flee.
The Seven Evil Spirits are the secondary main enemies of Patapon 3, each one has a Dark Hero. It is said that the Patapons opened up a cursed chest. Seven Spirits came out and petrified all the Patapons, except for Hatapon. A Hoshipon came out and tells the Almighty to hit the PON drum to revive the petrified Hero. Presumably, they will be the main enemies of Patapon 3. The spirits as shown in the trailer.
The Seven Evil Spirits all appear as mostly featureless black balls with tiny black bodies. However, each spirit possesses one anatomical feature that distinguishes it from the others. They all have a coloured aura around their bodies, and all feature a pair of triangles on their heads, with the arrangement of the shapes varying between spirits.
The following description of the individual spirits goes from left to right, based on their brief appearance in the Patapon 3 trailer (see above image):
1st Spirit: The only one to bear an eye and has a dark blue tint. The two triangles on its forehead point towards each other vertically and slightly overlap.
2nd Spirit: This spirit has long tail, and it has a red tint. The triangles on its head face away from each other
3rd Spirit: This spirit has bat-like wings or ears flanking its head, and a yellow tint. Its head triangles are connected at the side, one facing southwest, and one facing northeast.
4th Spirit: The largest spirit, thanks to its massive, spike-like horns. It has a green tint. Its markings overlap at the side with both facing upward.
5th Spirit: This spirit sports long antennae on its head, and has a purple tint similar to an Akumapon. Its marking is a mirror image of the third spirit; the triangles point northwest and southeast.
6th Spirit: The only spirit with a visible mouth has a brown tint. Both of its triangle marks face downward and overlap, appearing as the mirror image of the fourth spirit. Apart from its toothy maw, it also features a long tongue and small protrusions on either side of its mouth. It is the first evil spirit to be seen in the game, talking briefly to the Patapons then possessing a Dodonga
7th Spirit: The final spirit has a large red nose, and a light blue tint. Its triangles overlap, with one facing east, and another facing west.
Each symbol that the Seven Evil Spirits have has two triangles arranged in different ways.
The Patapon series is similar to Greek Mythology such as the Seven Evil Spirits.The Seven Evil Spirits are similar to the Seven Deadly Sin's due they release all evil and come's from the Pandora Box and the Seven Evil Spirits comes from a Chest and Hoshipon resembles hope that stays to help Humanity (in this case the patapons).
He wears a mask shaped like a wolf and wields two claws.The first of the Dark Heroes to be seen. His Hero mode involves him blasting a laser explosion and retreating, then to unleash another laser on your army. He can also throw rocks at your army so he could be a type of robopon.He was first seen with Fina, refusing to tell his name. You first battle him on the second level of the 2nd area.
Fina indecent, or Fina, is a female Dark Hero who wears a mask shaped like a fish. She was first seen at the end of the first demo with Fangiru wielding a pike. Not much is known about her at the moment. She is a professional with long spears. She seems to prefer appearing in Ice levels.
A Dark Hero with a mask shaped like a bat and the latest Dark Hero Revealed. He's a Megapon Dark Hero and he's sometimes surrounded by the mist. He is probably the Dark Hero of the Third Evil Spirit. He shoots blue circle like attacks from his two horns.
